ecoSPEARS The EPA has allocated $22M for a cleanup project along the IL/IN border. Public comments are being accepted through January 26th with a proposal planned for release during a public hearing on January 10th. The 440-acre site will be treated primarily for heavy metals contaminating the groundwater, including “arsenic, lead, zinc, and cadmium.” EPA expects to remediate roughly 61,000 cubic yards over the length of the proposed project.
